Aga Khan University, English Biscuit Manufacturers sign agreement to expand Neonatal Intensive Care UnitKARACHI September 17, 2013: An MoU between Aga Khan University (AKU) and English Biscuit Manufacturers (EBM) for expansion of neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) was signed on Monday. The expansion will enable the hospital to treat premature, and seriously ill babies who need specialised care in a specifically equipped unit. The 200-million-rupee project will ncrease the number of beds from 12 to 24. Pakistan is one of the 10 countries with the highest number of preterm births in the world ( at least one in six babies are born prematurely. “We are proud to be associated with the AKU’s commitment in providing international standard healthcare.
